Thank you! It's wonderful to learn Buddhist logic in this way!

Buddhist logic (Hetuvidyā) is indeed very powerful, but not many people have access to content in this area. Now, there is finally an opportunity to explore English explanations of this topic, and I look forward to the next update.

This was wildly confusing and it didn’t move the needle for me in my depth of understanding. Halfway through I felt like it was a snake eating its tail.

It's part of a textbook in Buddhist epistemology. You have to start from the very beginning to understand. It's highly technical but very basic actually.

Having analyzed the definitions of established base, impermanence, permanence, produced phenomena, and so forth—using examples such as a vase, sound, and a rabbit’s horn to illustrate and understand them—the ultimate purpose of studying and discerning dharmas is to recognize and rely upon the true Dharma, to cultivate the true path, and thereby accomplish liberation.

The study of dharma is not merely for debate or the accumulation of knowledge; rather, it is so that the dharma may truly perform its function in one’s own and others’ continuums. As previously stated, the core function of dharma is to transform the practitioner’s continuum, gradually turning an ordinary being into an Arya until the intermediate fruition is achieved. This entire transformation process depends solely on the power of the true dharma; thus, the Buddha’s activity is to turn the wheel of the true Dharma.
